The Rotary Club of Miami’s history is intertwined with that of the City of Miami. The world-renowned Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami is named after our club’s founder, Dr. James Jackson. One of the top eye hospitals in the world was founded by a late member of our club, Bascom Palmer. We continue that legacy, by having awarded to date over $6 million in medical school scholarships, thanks to our Thomas Brown McClelland Trust, which was established by a late member of our club.
Rotary’s motto is “Service Above Self,” and we are proud to have served our community and the world in these and other countless ways over the last 99 years. We look forward to hosting a special evening as we celebrate our 100th anniversary in 2017, and begin another Century of Service.
